Major Cambridgeshire road closed for hours after van and lorry crash

A major Peterborough[1] road has reopened after a crash. The A1260 Nene Parkway in Peterborough reopened just before 2pm on Thursday (July 31.) The road was closed since just before 9am, after a van and lorry reportedly crashed along the road.

The road has now reopened. Traffic monitoring site Inrix says: "A1260 Nene Parkway Northbound re-opened, traffic returned to normal, accident cleared from A1139 Fletton Parkway J3 (Hampton Roundabout) to J32 A605 Oundle Road." Emergency services were called to the scene earlier today. A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said: "We were called at about 8.45am today with reports of a collision between a van and a lorry on the Nene Parkway.

Emergency services are at the scene and the road is closed." Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue were called, but no firefighting action was required. The East of England Ambulance Service have been contacted for more information.
