M60 LIVE as motorway blocked with severe traffic delays after ‘serious’ crash

The M60 has been hit by severe delays this morning after a two-car accident. The motorway was fully blocked on the clockwise carriageway at junction 27, at the Portwood roundabout, following the crash at around 6.30am. Two lanes have reopened but there are miles of queues currently back to junction 23 for Ashton under Lyne, travel services say, with drivers trapped in 90 minute queues and up to six miles of congestion.
Travel service Inrix says: "Severe delays and one lane closed and the entry slip road is partially blocked due to earlier accident on M60 clockwise at J27 A560 Great Portwood Street (Portwood Roundabout). Congestion to J23 (Ashton Under Lyne). "Lanes two and three (of three) have been re-opened after being blocked for around an hour."
National Highways said: "Lanes 2 and 3 are reopen on the #M60 clockwise between J27 and J1 near #Stockport following a multi-vehicle collision. Lane 1 remains closed. " Emergency services continue working at scene.
90 min delays above normal journey time with 6 miles congestion."
Police have said those involved have suffered 'minor' injuries.
