M60: Appeal after motorcyclist left with life-threatening injuries

Shortly after 1.40pm yesterday (July 12), Greater Manchester Police (GMP) responded to a report of a crash involving a motorbike on the anti-clockwise side of the motorway between J25 Bredbury and J24 Denton[1]. A man in his 50s, who is believed to be the rider of the motorbike, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police said that the man remains in hospital and his family has been informed.
An air ambulance was called to the scene, and the motorway remained closed until around 9.15pm. GMP's serious collision investigations unit is now investigating the incident. The force said it is currently not believed that any other vehicle was involved in the crash.
Police are now appealing for information to help them understand how the crash occurred. A spokesperson for the force said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who has dash-cam footage to contact us. "Officers also thank members of the public who stopped by the roadside to give the man initial first aid.
"Anyone with information or footage should contact us on 0161 856 4741 quoting incident 1903 of 12/07/2025.
"Details can be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
