Freeport LNG recovers full capacity at Texas plant

Freeport LNG can supply 10 million homes in a day.

The Freeport LNG export plant, located in Texas, is on track to regain full operating capacity after one of its three liquefaction trains was recently shut down. This facility, key to global liquefied natural gas liquefied natural gas (LNG) markets[1] (LNG) markets, temporarily shut down its liquefaction train. liquefaction train number two[2] number two due to a failure in its compressor system, resulting in emissions that were reported to Texas regulatory authorities.
Evolution of flows and market reaction
According to LSEG data, the volume of gas piped to Freeport LNG was on track to reach 1.9 billion cubic feet per day on Thursday, recovering from 1.6 billion on Tuesday. This figure reflects a gradual return to its usual average in the previous week, evidence of the plant's rapid response to technical contingencies.
On the other hand, Freeport LNG[3] is one of the most closely watched facilities in global LNG trading, as its operational variations often impact gas tariffs in both the United States and Europe. On this occasion, however, the markets remained relatively stable despite the partial outage.

In addition, the three liquefaction modules[4] the Texas plant have a combined capacity to convert approximately 2.1 billion cubic feet per day of gas into liquefied fuel. liquefied fuel[5]enough to supply about 10 million homes for a full day. The expectation is that the full reestablishment of the plant will allow the global LNG supply to normalize, maintaining the balance between U.S. demand and the needs of the European market.
