Double-lorry crash on A40 kills man as police make arrest

The incident occurred at around 12.50am on Friday morning (July 18) on the A40 between Burford and Northleach. Gloucestershire Constabulary officers, along with the fire and ambulance services, attended. One of the drivers, a man in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second driver was taken to the hospital to be checked over, and he has since been released.
A man aged in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, and he remains in custody for questioning. The road reopened around 7pm on Friday (18 July). A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary said: "A man has died following a collision which involved two lorries in the early hours of this morning (Friday).
"Anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage is asked to provide this to us online by completing the form and quoting incident 12 of 18 July."
