Dartford Bridge shuts after serious crash between lorry and car

The QEII bridge at the Dartford Crossing has shut today (July 3) due to a fuel spillage from a lorry crash. There are considerable delays tailing back from the bridge on the M25 as it will take some time for the fuel to be cleaned, with delays expected into this evening. The crash took place at around 11am this morning involving a car and a lorry.
The fuel spillage from the lorry's tanker has taken place across all lanes of the bridge and it is completely blocked. Traffic is set to be diverted through the right hand tunnel of the crossing, meaning that northbound traffic will only have one tunnel to pass through at the crossing which connects Essex to Kent. It is not yet known if there have been any serious injuries but there are major delays on the M25 on both approaches.
