‘Bubbly’ boy who died in M60 tragedy named as tributes paid

A teenage boy who died in a tragic incident on the M60[1] can be named as Israel Iyabor. The 15 year-old died after emergency services were called to junction 20 of the motorway, near Blackley[2], last night. Greater Manchester Police[3] (GMP) said that officers were called to reports of a 'concern for welfare.'
The Manchester Evening News previously reported that a person was hit by a vehicle.
The ring road was shut at around 4:30pm as emergency services responded to what was described by transport agencies as a 'serious road traffic collision.'
"Sadly, a 15-year-old boy died at the scene" GMP said.

"His next of kin have been informed" the force added.
It has now been confirmed that it was Israel.
Manchester Coroner's Court confirmed a file had been passed to them regarding his death.

An inquest is expected to be opened in due course.
Tributes have been left both close to the scene of the tragedy, and online.
More than a dozen bunches of flowers have been left close to the motorway entry slip road.

A card left with one reads: "It was only yesterday we [were] making TikToks. I'll forever miss your smile, your jokes, and your bubbly personality.
"I hope you are at peace now you precious boy.
"I love and miss you so much."

Social media has also indundated with messages of confolence for the boy and his family.
"So sad.
God bless him. Rest in peace" one said.
"Another beautiful angel gone far too soon. RIP young man" added another.
"Can't imagine what his family are going through" said a third.
Whilst a fourth said: "Rest easy young man.
Forever young."
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, who also responded to the incident, said: "The thoughts of everyone at GMFRS are with the family and friends of the boy who sadly lost his life."
Article continues belowThe motorway was closed for several hours in both directions between junctions 19 and 21 with fans attending Oasis' final concert at Heaton Park[6] among those caught up in the traffic disruption.
It reopened at around 4am in the early hours of this morning.
