A63 crash police statement as pedestrian dies after collision involving lorry

A pedestrian has died following a collision with a lorry along the A63 in Hull. Emergency services were called to the westbound carriageway in the area of Daltry Street flyover at around 4am on Monday morning (July 14). A heavy goods vehicle was found to have been involved in a collision with a pedestrian who tragically died at the scene, reports Hull Live[1].

The road was closed in both directions for several hours between St Andrew's Quay and the A1165 Drypool while collision investigators carried out their work. The eastbound carriageway reopened mid-morning with the westbound reopening at around midday. A Humberside Police[2] spokesperson said: "Officers are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the collision, has CCTV, dashcam, or any further information that may assist officers with their ongoing enquiries, please contact our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 55 of 14 July.

We would also like to thank the public for their patience whilst the road was closed."
