A12 shut after lorry overturns near Colchester

The A12 has been shut in Essex this afternoon (July 25) after a lorry crashed and overturned. The southbound section of the road is blocked near Colchester after the crash earlier today. The road is blocked between junction 27 with Spring Lane and junction 28 with Colchester football stadium.

There are major delays on the northbound carriageway with traffic all the way back to the junction with Marks Tey due to onlookers slowing to look. There is severe traffic on the southbound carriageway with traffic building back to Langham. There were no injuries or arrests in relation to the crash and the road reopened at around 2.30pm.
