Woman rushed to hospital after Jeep and lorry crash on Cambs border

A woman has been taken to hospital after a crash on the Cambridgeshire[1] border. Emergency services were called to a two-vehicle crash on the A505 at Royston just before 9am on Monday, June 23. The crash involved a white DAF Trucks lorry and a grey Jeep Avenger Summit.

A woman in her 40s, who was driving the car, was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital for further treatment. She was transported to hospital by the East of England Ambulance Service. An ambulance spokesperson said: "We were called at 8.50am to a road traffic collision involving a car and a lorry on the A505 near Melbourn.

"Two ambulances, an ambulance offer vehicle and the hazardous area response team were sent to the scene. The driver of the car, an adult woman, was transported to Addenbrooke's Hospital for further assessment and treatment." Cambridgeshire Police were also called to the scene and had to close the road while officers recovered the vehicle.

A police spokesperson added: "Police were called at around 8.55am to reports of a road traffic collision on the A505, Royston. "The collision involved two vehicles, a white DAF Trucks lorry, a grey Jeep Avenger Summit. A woman in her 40s was taken to the hospital for treatment.

A road closure was put in place, vehicles were recovered and the closure was lifted at around 12.15pm."
