Van driver left fighting for life after crash with HGV

A man remains in hospital with life threatening injuries after a crash that closed a Denbighshire[1] road for hours. The incident happened yesterday in St Asaph[2]. It involved a van, a car, and an HGV.
The driver of the van was airlifted by the Wales Air Ambulance to hospital in Stoke. His condition remains critical. The driver of the HGV was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
North Wales Police[3] said: "At 10.55am on Tuesday, 10th June, officers responded to a report of a collision on the B5381 Lower Denbigh[4] Road involving a HGV, a Peugeot Partner van and a Dacia Duster. Officers responded along with the Welsh Ambulance Service and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and the driver of the van was airlifted to hospital in Stoke by the Air Ambulance. "He remains in hospital with serious, potentially life-threatening injuries.
The 21-year-old male driver of the HGV was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and he has since been released under investigation whilst enquiries continue.
