Two taken to hospital following crash involving car and lorry on A1

Yesterday at 15:31Two people have been taken to hospital after a crash involving a car and lorry outside Banbridge this afternoon.
The PSNI, Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service and Northern Ireland Ambulance Service all attended the scene on the Newry Road.
NIAS confirmed they sent three ambulance crews and a rapid response paramedic to the incident.
A spokesperson added: "One person was taken to Daisy Hill Hospital by Ambulance and another person was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital by Ambulance."
NIFRS said they sent one firefighting appliance from Banbridge Fire Station and one appliance from Dromore Fire Station.
A spokesperson said: "Firefighters were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a lorry and a car on Newry Road, Banbridge.
All passengers were out of the vehicles on arrival of NIFRS.
"Firefighters made the area safe and handed the scene over to the PSNI.
The incident was dealt with by 3.04pm."
Earlier police confirmed the road is closed.
A PSNI spokesperson added: "The A1 carriageway is currently closed to north-bound traffic following a road traffic collision between Loughbrickland and Banbridge.
