Swindon M4 vehicle blaze draws multiple fire crews

The fire service said they were called to the M4, junction 15, at around 6.30pm after a vehicle was reported to be on fire. One crew from Swindon and two crews from Newbury attended the scene, and were able to extinguish the flames by 7pm. A spokesperson for the fire service said: "We were called at 6.25pm yesterday (10 June) to M4, J15 to reports of a vehicle fire.
One crew from Swindon, along with two crews from Newbury (Royal Berkshire FRS) attended where two breathing apparatus wearers used one hose reel jet and foam to extinguish. "Crews remained on scene to dampen down and our stop came in at 6.54pm. The road was temporarily closed during the incident by the police and National Highways."
National highways said vehicle recovery had left the scene by 7.15pm, and that all lanes had opened.
