Bull killed and several injured in crash involving lorry

In the early hours of this morning the two vehicles and the farm animal were involved in a crash near to the Sturminster Marshall roundabout. The bull was found dead at the scene. Several people were injured and taken to hospital for injuries Dorset Police has described as not serious.
The crash forced the road to close just after 1am this morning and was not reopened until 6.30am. This was to enable the emergency services to safely deal with the incident and clear the road. Several forensics vans were also spotted at the junction just past the road closure.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "We were called at 1.06am on Tuesday 10 June 2025 to a report of a collision involving a lorry, a car and a bull on the A31 near to the Sturminster Marshall junction. "Officers attended and road closures were put in place to allow for the incident to be safely dealt with. A number of people attended hospital for treatment to injuries not described as serious, but it is not clear how many people.
"The road was cleared at around 6.30am." Early morning commuters were forced to take diversion routes via the A350 to join the A35 at Upton, or alternatively join the A354 at Blandford. One motorist on their way to work said: "I was coming from Wimborne and when I got to the exit to head towards Bere Regis the road was closed and I could see several white forensic vans and a police car.
"I wasn't sure what had happened but I do hope everyone is okay.
"When I got to Bere Regis to head towards Dorchester the road looked like it had just reopened."
