Road to close today for lorry container recovery

Furzebrook Road in Wareham will shut from 7pm on Tuesday, June 24, between the Stoborough Roundabout and The Blue Pool. The closure is to enable the safe removal of a container from a lorry that overturned earlier this month. The incident happened on June 13 and led to the road being closed.

Dorset Police, the fire service, and ambulance crews were called to the scene. A spokesperson for Dorset Police's Roads Policing Unit said: "The driver has been taken to Poole General Hospital by land ambulance with injuries that are believed to be serious but not life threatening." The road is being closed in the evening "to minimise disruption to businesses and after rush hour, whilst still benefiting from natural light," Dorset Police said.

It will reopen as soon as the recovery operation is complete.
