Port Freeport rejigs commissioning board

Croft was first elected as a commissioner at Port Freeport in 2019 and will commence his second term, while Singhania was initially elected in 2007 and is beginning his fourth term. The port commission also elected Rob Giesecke as chairman, Rudy Santos as vice chairman, Kim Kincannon as secretary, and Croft as assistant secretary. Barbara Fratila and Singhania will also serve on the port commission.
"It's a privilege to continue serving during such a dynamic period of growth," said Croft. "Port Freeport plays a vital role in creating opportunity throughout our region, and I look forward to supporting infrastructure development and community partnerships that advance that mission." Singhania added: "From improving channel capacity to enhancing our environmental stewardship, I remain committed to ensuring Port Freeport grows responsibly while upholding our dedication to a zero-tax rate for the Navigation District." The Port Freeport commission is made up of six publicly elected members who serve staggered six-year terms, with the commission tasked with setting policy and guiding the port's actions on sustainable development, fiscal responsibility and economic prosperity across Brazoria County and surrounding areas.
In November 2024, Port Freeport secured EPA support for its clean air programme[1].
