Person taken to hospital after collision between lorry and cyclist in Colchester

The crash between a lorry and a bike caused Magdalen Street to be closed both ways near Aldi. Essex Police closed the road which caused slow traffic in the area. One person was treated for injuries at the scene.

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We were called just before 10.50am to reports of a collision between a bicycle and a lorry on Magdalen Street in Colchester. "An ambulance was sent to the scene and transported the cyclist, an adult man, to Colchester General Hospital for further assessment and treatment."       The road was reopened at 12pm after the scene was cleared.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "There was a minor injury road traffic collision at 11am.

"We arrived and closed the road whilst the incident was dealt with.

"The road was reopened at midday."
