More Recognition for the Success of Generation Logistics

The success of Generation Logistics, the cross-industry awareness campaign to build interest in careers in the sector, has received further acknowledgement this week with news that two of the campaign's principals, Bethany Windsor and Phil Roe, have been shortlisted for honours at this year's prestigious Everywoman Transport and Logistics Awards.   The programme's manager, Bethany Windsor, has been shortlisted for the Industry Champion Award, which will be given to a female pioneer whose longstanding, continuous support of women in the industry has led to impactful and measurable change. Meanwhile, the campaign's executive sponsor, Phil Roe, has been recognised in the Male Agent of Change category.

This will be awarded to a male role model who is actively committed to encouraging, advancing, sponsoring or championing the progress of women in the transport and logistics sector, something which the Generation Logistics campaign is committed to achieving.    "After 18 years, the Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards have established a reputation for highlighting excellence across our profession," comments Windsor, "so to be shortlisted in these categories is a huge honour and a recognition of the sector's commitment to recruiting women into the workforce of tomorrow.   Phil and I are both very honoured to be recognised in such esteemed company and are both exceptionally proud of what the Generation Logistics campaign has achieved so far.

We have made huge strides over the past two and a half years to change the way young people and their educators think about logistics as a career, but the work must continue - there is still a way to go before we are thought of as an automatic career choice in the same breath as industries such as retail, manufacturing or healthcare.   "Congratulations to all the shortlisted nominees for this year's awards. We look forward to celebrating with them at the grand final in July."

In the first two years of the Generation Logistics campaign, over 1.673 billion opportunities to see messages about logistics careers were created for the programme's 13-18 year old target audience. And as Windsor continues, changes in perceptions of logistics careers have already started to be seen:   "When we started the campaign, awareness of the opportunities our sector offers were virtually nil.

Over the past two years, we have raised awareness of our industry by 37% and improved the way young people think about our careers opportunities by 212%. These are impressive numbers, but the job is not finished yet - we need to keep pressing home the amazing employment options that logistics offers. This is something that Phil, the team and I are totally committed to doing."

Sponsorship opportunities for the fourth year of the campaign, which starts in January 2026, will open soon: to register an interest in becoming a supporter of this sector-leading, award-winning campaign, please email [email protected].
