The incident is now being managed by Highways." Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service has been on the scene to contain a diesel and oil leak from the unit. An Environmental Grab Pack - a bag full of items to absorb and contain hazardous materials such as fuel and oil - has been placed on the road.
A spokesperson for Upton upon Severn Fire Station said: "This morning the crew attended a Large Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) that had unfortunately fallen over whilst going round the roundabout on J8 of the M5. "They used their Environmental Grab Pack and a hose reel jet to contain diesel and oil that had leaked from the tractor unit. "The items are actually given to Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service by the Environment Agency and every time something from the pack is used, we have to produce a cost recovery form with details of the incident.
"This is then sent to the Environment Agency who are able to recover costs of the items used from insurance companies."
Currently, there is no access to the M50 westbound from the M5 southbound.
Traffic heading for the M50 should continue south on the M5 until junction 9 and then return northbound back to junction 8 where drivers can exit and join the M50.
