M11 near Stansted Airport closed in both directions after lorry overturns

A heavy goods vehicle crossed the northbound carriageway onto the southbound carriageway of the M11 before overturning and come to rest on its side. The M11 in Essex is now closed in both directions between J8 near Stansted Airport and J7A near Harlow North. The AA report that there are severe delays of 23 minutes on the M11 Southbound between M11 and J7A A1025 (Harlow North) with the average speed being 5ph.

Essex Travel News also said the motorway is expected to remain closed into rush hour, with traffic very slow between Stansted Airport and Junction 8. Essex Police, emergency services, and National Highways Traffic officers are on the scene.  Traffic caught within the closure is in the process of being released via rearward relief, with National Highways saying this could take some time due to the volumes of traffic.

Drivers are also instructed to please wait until instructed otherwise.
