Lorry crash and oil spill shuts A30

The A30[1] was closed in Cornwall this afternoon, Tuesday, June 24, after a crash involving a car and a lorry. The crash took place between the A394 roundabout (Penzance[2]) and the A3074 Nut Lane (St Erth). The road was closed in the eastbound direction. Traffic[3] was queuing due to an operation to clean up an oil spill.

Traffic monitoring site Inrix said: "A30 eastbound closed, queueing traffic due to accident, a car and a lorry involved between A394 (Newtown roundabout, Penzance) and A3074 Nut Lane (St Erth roundabout, Lelant)."

Devon and Cornwall Police[4] have been contacted for comment.
