A lorry and car crash caused delays on M25 near Wisley

Drivers were facing long delays on the M25[1] in Surrey[2] this morning following an accident which was partially blocking the road. The crash happened at just before 10am today (Saturday) on the anticlockwise carriageway at Junction 10 for the A3 (Wisley[3] Interchange). National Highways said the collision was between a lorry and a car.
The congestion[4] had been made worse by the delays caused by the A3 closure. Traffic monitoring site Inrix said: "M25, Surrey, anticlockwise. M25 anticlockwise partially blocked, long delays due to accident at J10 A3 (Wisley Interchange).
Not helped by the A3 closure delays." National Highways said there were delays of 50 minutes against traffic. SurreyLive[5] contacted the emergency services for further details. A police spokesperson said: "There was a report at 9.55am following a two-vehicle collision between a car and an HGV on the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 in between Junctions 10-11.
No injuries were reported and it was passed to Highways." The A3 in Wisley is closed in both directions, and there was queueing traffic due to the weekend roadworks in place until the early hours of Monday morning, from M25 J10 (Wisley Interchange, Wisley) to A245 Portsmouth Road (Painshill, Cobham). There was congestion on both sides of the A3 and the M25 on approach to the junction.
