Hunt for answers after lorry crashes into bridge near M8

Officers are hunting for answers after a lorry with a heavy load collided with a bridge over the motorway this afternoon. (Image: Image: Traffic Scotland) Despite re-opening this evening, the M8 westbound at junction 27 was completely locked down and drivers were warned to avoid the area as large traffic queues formed. Police Scotland[2] went on to say that Arkleston Road in Paisley[3], which sits over the M8 motorway, will remain closed for the foreseeable future. ADVERTISEMENT
Now, cops are appealing for any witnesses or information following the incident. READ NEXT: Boy, 14, due in court following death of Kayden Moy[4] Police Sergeant Adnan Alam of the Road Policing Unit said: "We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
I would appeal to motorists with dash cam footage to come forward.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 2011 on Wednesday, June 4, 2025."
