It is understood to have happened just before 8am. A spokeswoman for the ambulance service said: "We were called to reports of a RTC involving two vehicles on the M25 between Junctions 3 and 2.

"Crews assessed and treated two patients at the scene before discharging them both from our care." Three fire engines also attended. At the time, traffic monitoring website Inrix said there was congestion on both sides of the motorway, with "onlookers back to Junction 2".

National Highways posted a warning on X at 8.31am, saying that drivers were currently being held.

It added: "All emergency services, traffic officers and recovery agents are working at the scene. There are delays of 30 minutes on the approach." By 9.30am the overturned car had been moved to the hard shoulder.
