D&D Transport Expands with Move to New Alfreton Site

Midlands-based haulier D&D Transport has expanded its operations with a move to new premises in Alfreton. The relocation gives the company increased warehouse capacity, allowing it to meet rising demand for end-to-end logistics and storage solutions. The new site includes 10,000 pallet spaces across internal and external storage, enabling the business to support larger volumes across its general haulage, courier, and warehousing divisions.
Managing Director Dave Palmer said: "We are really excited by this move--a natural progression for the company, ensuring there is little we can't do. Our customers have always come first, and this expansion ensures we can cater to their needs."
End-to-end logistics service
Founded in 1992, D&D Transport operates more than 40 vehicles, ranging from Luton vans to artic HGVs. A member of the Palletways Distribution Network, the firm offers UK-wide and international transport.
Its new Alfreton base enables customers to access real-time stock control via a cloud-based warehouse management system. "With our Warehousing Management Systems, we can give our customers their own log-in so they can manage their own stock control, check their inventory and tell us what needs delivering," explained Palmer. This allows D&D Transport to act as a single-source logistics provider. Services now include collection, warehousing, pick-and-pack and delivery--all managed under one roof.
Recruiting for growth
To support the expansion, the firm is now recruiting additional Class 1 HGV drivers.
The move signals continued growth and investment in its people, infrastructure and customer service.
