Dave Day: No decision made yet if Barrow event will return
The second edition of the big event, created in honour of Dave Myers, took place across June 21 and 22[1]. Jason Woodcock, one of the key organisers behind the celebrations, reflected on last weekend's celebrations and cast his eye towards next year. He said: "We will go away and learn from everything and look at it - decisions haven't been made whether it's going to be repeated.
"But we're going to look at the whole set-up and see if it's something we're able to do again, and also [if we] will get the support again based on the numbers that actually attended." Jason added: "I want to thank everybody in Barrow for their support again, coming out in their droves, and the people on the bridges on the way up the motorway. "It was a fantastic day, it's almost like a movement has started about remembering people and remembering Dave. "And people who say it's not really about raising money for charity, it is, it really is - because that's what I did with Dave for 10 years, it's about remembering Dave and helping the charities Dave believed in."
Catch up on some of our exclusive Dave Day coverage: It is hoped that the final donation total, which will go to NSPCC Childline and CancerCare, will be announced in the next couple of weeks. Money was brought in through biker registration, concert tickets, a charity football match, merchandise and a JustGiving page.
The online fundraising page, which has since surpassed its ?20,000 goal, will be left open for the next fortnight and you can donate to it here[2].
