Crash involving Land Rover and lorry closes A40 near tunnels

Emergency services attended the scene after the incident was reported at around 2.20pm on June 19.[1] Traffic Wales South confirmed at 4.36pm that the incident was over and the road had reopened. A spokesperson for Gwent Police said: "We received a report of a road traffic collision heading south on the A40, near Gibraltar Tunnels, Monmouth, at around 2.20pm on Thursday 19 June.

"Officers are in attendance to assist with traffic management. "The collision involved two vehicles - a Land Rover and a lorry. "There were no reports of any injuries."

Motorists experienced delays while the lane was closed, but traffic has now returned to normal.
