Commuters warned as M40 delays to continue after lorry crash

Emergency repairs have been ongoing on the motorway between Junction 11 for Banbury and Junction 12 for Gaydon, in the north of the county. Multiple emergency service vehicles were pictured at the scene and two lanes going northbound and one going southbound have been cordoned off for most of the day.

READ MORE: M40 traffic: Motorway lanes remain closed after lorry crash[3] As of around 3:30pm, the delays were approximately an hour and traffic[4] stretched five miles according to National Highways. Meanwhile, Oxon Travel has warned that delays will likely continue into the evening and commuters have been advised to try and seek alternatives to the route, in particular going northbound.
As of 4pm today, the three lanes remained closed, and traffic was still heavy.
