Baby discharged from Royal Stoke after Tunstall lorry crash

Police were last night due to interview the driver of a lorry which was in collision with a baby in a pram. The tot was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital[1] following the collision in Forster Street, in Tunstall[2]. It led police to cordon off sections of Forster Street and neighbouring Tower Square.

The collision happened at 11.50am on Friday, June 13. Staffordshire Police[3] had reported at the time that the driver 'did not stay at the scene'. But contact has now been made and the driver was due to attend an interview yesterday.

A Staffordshire Police spokesman said: "The child was discharged from hospital shortly after arriving. The driver of the lorry was due to be voluntarily interviewed on Monday." Police are appealing for witnesses following the collision.

They should call the police on 101, quoting incident number 291 of 13 June, or call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
