A647 Stanningley Bypass ‘standstill’ after car flips onto roof in lorry crash

One patient is in hospital after a car flipped onto its roof in a crash with a lorry on the A647 Stanningley Bypass. Emergency services were called to the major road in Leeds early on Friday, June 27. Pictures posted to social media show a black car overturned near the central reservation following a crash with a heavy goods vehicle (HGV).

Witnesses reported the crash happened between the Pudsey[1] and Swinnow slip roads. West Yorkshire Police[2] vehicles were also seen on the scene, and have been approached for more information. A Yorkshire Ambulance Service spokesman said one patient was taken to hospital following the crash. They said: 'We received an emergency call at 7.17am this morning (Friday 27 June) to report a road traffic collision on Stanningley Bypass.

An ambulance was dispatched to the scene and one patient was conveyed to Leeds General Infirmary.' West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service[3] confirmed they were also in attendance and made the scene safe. A spokesman said: "We were called at 07.27 this morning to the ring road in Bramley to reports of a crash involving large vehicles.
