Police investigating after man dies in crash between van and a lorry in Powys
Dyfed-Powys Police have confirmed a man has died after a crash on the A44 on Thursday (May 1) near New Radnor. The incident is entirely separate to a crash on the A44 at Sweet Lamb[1] in which a biker was killed on Friday, which the force confirmed on Tuesday morning. Thursday's crash involved an articulated lorry and a Ford Transit, and saw the road closed for over 12 hours.

Dyfed-Powys Police[2] have confirmed that the driver of the Transit van was rushed to hospital after the crash but later died from their injuries.
Officers have confirmed and investigation has been launched into the incident. A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: "Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating a two-vehicle road traffic collision, which occurred on the A44, between New Radnor[3] and Walton, at approx.
4pm on Thursday, May 1. "The collision involved a white ford transit van and an articulated lorry.
"The driver of the Ford Transit was taken to hospital where sadly he later died. Their next of kin have been informed and trained police officers are supporting their family. "The road was closed overnight and re-opened just before 7.30am on May 2."
