M25 near Kent remains CLOSED after lorry crash causes fuel spill and major delays

National Highways confirmed that the anti-clockwise section of the M25, between junction 6 (Godstone Interchange, Surrey) and junction 5 (Chevening Interchange, Kent), will remain closed throughout the Wednesday morning rush hour. The closure is causing significant disruption for thousands of vehicles, including those heading to major locations such as Heathrow and Gatwick airports, the Port of Dover, and the Eurotunnel terminal at Folkestone. The tanker involved in the crash was transporting waste and has ruptured, spilling hazardous materials across the carriageway.

National Highways has warned that the closure may be extended due to a complex and extensive clean-up operation, and resurfacing will likely be necessary before the road can reopen.
