M25 major delays after crash causes rush hour chaos

Traffic was reportedly queuing for four miles after an incident on the M25 this morning. The anticlockwise carriageway was partially blocked from junction 28, leading to the A12 and Brook Street roundabout/Brentwood. The incident, first reported at around 7am this morning (May 15), caused long delays and queueing traffic.

According to Inrix, the live traffic blog, the incident initially involved a car and a lorry. It was later confirmed that the lorry involved was an HGV and the collision caused an oil spillage on the motorway, keeping two lanes closed for hours. Drivers faced long delays of up to 90 minutes during rush hour following the incident.
