Female taken to hospital after M66 concern for welfare incident

Police were called to junction one of the M66 near Ramsbottom at around 2pm today, Friday. Officers say the female, whose age has not been published, has been taken to hospital with "serious injuries". The motorway was closed off this afternoon in both directions as police dealt with the incident.
