A driver suffered serious injures after a lorry and car crash on the M6. Emergency services were called to the motorway near Sanbach at around 6am on Friday, May 23 between junction 16 and 17.

It lead to the closure of two lanes and caused heavy traffic on the A500 through Audley. Cheshire Police confirmed the driver of the car was taken to Leighton Hospital and was receiving treatment for serious injuries, reports Cheshire Live[1].

A spokesperson for the force said: "Police were called to reports of a collision on the M6 between junction 16 and junction 17, near Sandbach.

Officers attended and found the collision involved a car and a HGV.

"The driver of the car sustained serious injuries and has been taken to Leighton Hospital for treatment." Witnesses, or anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage, should call the force on 101 and quote IML 2095766.
