Woman taken to hospital after lorry and car crash on A-road

A woman has been taken to hospital after a crash between a lorry and a car on a major A-road on the Cambridgeshire[1] border. The A142 Fordham Road was closed on Monday (April 14) for around an hour with traffic queuing in the area. Emergency services were called to Fordham Road at around 6:35am after reports of a crash.

The road was closed at 7am and reopened at around 8am while police investigated the incident. The woman has been taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital for further assessment. An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "One ambulance was sent to Fordham Road Exning this morning following reports of a road traffic collision.

One woman was transported to Addenbrooke's Hospital[2] for further assessment and care." A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire[3] Police said: "We were called at 6.35am to reports of a two-vehicle collision (one lorry, one car) on the A142 heading out of Newmarket[4] towards Soham (near the sewage works)."
