Police and fire crews on the scene after lorry flips off the road near Oswestry

West Mercia Police have confirmed officers have attended a crash this morning (April 15) on the outskirts of Treflach. Teams from Oswestry's Safer Neighbourhood team have confirmed they are at the site of the crash and have warned that there will be disruption in the area. According to the team the incident saw a lorry overturn off the road into a nearby field.

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Oswestry[1] Early turn Response officers and local SNT are currently at scene at a Road Traffic Collision involving one lorry vehicle which has rolled off the road into a field.
"Ambulance and Fire services are also at the location and the incident being managed. "The incident has occurred on the outskirts of Treflach[2] near to Sychtyn. "These are small lanes being effected so please take care using the roads in this area and keep clear if in the vicinity of the collision.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service[4] have confirmed that four crews were called to the scene after reports of a road traffic collision with "persons trapped". Crews were forced to cut a person out of the lorry and they were then taken to hospital for further treatment. A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At 7.43pm on Tuesday, April 15, Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service Fire Control received a call reporting that a Road Traffic Collision had taken place in Oswestry.
"Four fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Ellesmere and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance. "One large goods vehicle overturned."
"Crews used cutting equipment to free casualty.
Casualty now in the care of ambulance service."
