Person taken to hospital after Kent van and lorry crash

A person has been taken to hospital this morning (Monday, April 14) following a crash involving a van and a lorry near Sandwich[1]. Emergency services were called to the A256 Sandwich Bypass[2] at approximately 8.30am. The collision, which took place between Pfizer's Roundabout and the Discovery Park roundabout, caused the van to overturn and block the southbound carriageway.

Officers from Kent Police[3] attended, alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service[4] (SECAmb) paramedics. A police spokesperson said: "Kent Police received a report of a road traffic collision on the A256 at around 8.30am on Monday 14 April 2025 involving a lorry and a van. Officers attended the scene along with SECAmb.

"The roundabout was briefly shut at Cove Park and traffic was diverted." The collision had been cleared from the carriageway shortly before 10am and the road was fully re-opened soon after. A spokesperson for SECAmb added: "SECAmb were called at approx.

08:53 today (14/04/25) to reports of a RTC on Ramsgate Road in Sandwich. Crews assessed and treated one patient at the scene before taking them to William Harvey Hospital for further medical treatment."
