Part of major Scots motorway CLOSED after multi-vehicle crash

A SECTION of one of Scotland's busiest motorways was shut after a crash involving multiple vehicles. Drivers were delayed for more than half an hour after a part of the M8 was closed following the carnage today.

Transport Scotland initially said the road was restricted following the smash at junction 6A - 6 at Newhouse, North Lanarkshire[1]. The announcement was made on social networking site X at around 5.40pm.

It said: "The road is currently restricted eastbound due to a multi vehicle road traffic collision. "Traffic[2] is slow on the eastbound carriageway with currently a 15 minute delay.
