Major south Essex road shut after lorry crash caused ‘substantial damage’

Police shut off the A12 between junction 16, near south Essex's Stock Road, at around 4.30pm yesterday evening. The road was closed overnight until around 5.30am today after a crash caused "barrier damage", Essex County Council's traffic control showed last night.

A spokesman for the force said: "We were called to a collision on the A12 between at Junction 16 near Galleywood at around 4.30pm on Tuesday 22 April. "It was reported a lorry had collided with a central reservation, causing substantial damage. "No serious injuries were suffered.
"A road closure was implemented while the damage was cleared."
