Main road closed after lorry and car crash

A main road in Nottinghamshire[1] was closed after a crash which reportedly involved a lorry and a car. Newtonwood Lane, near Huthwaite, was shut in both directions following the collision, which was first reported at 8.45am this morning (Tuesday, April 8). The incident caused heavy traffic in the area, according to traffic monitoring site Inrix.

It wrote: "Newtonwood Lane in both directions blocked, heavy traffic due to accident.

"A car and a lorry involved from Chesterfield Road (Huthwaite) to Littlemoor Lane (Newton)." Nottinghamshire Police[2] has been contacted for more information.
