M6 traffic LIVE as crash forces motorway to close

Drivers are facing miles of delays on the M6 following a serious crash this afternoon (April 20) All traffic has been stopped on both the northbound and southbound carriageways between junctions 34 for 33 near Lancaster. According to LancsLive[1], traffic monitoring service Inrix first reported the incident at 12.39pm this afternoon (April 20).

It is resulting in heavy congestion on both sides of the motorway. Police and fire crews are at the scene. Lancaster Area Police said the closure is expected to last 'for some time' as they deal with the incident.
