M6: Firefighters close motorway for incident involving HGV
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to the motorway yesterday, Sunday. A fire service spokesperson said one lane was closed on the northbound carriageway between the junction for Middlewich and the junction for Knutsford for an incident involving an HGV with 'overheated brakes'. Firefighters cooled the brakes after attending from Middlewich Fire Station and Winsford Fire Station at 5.30pm.
A fire service spokesperson said: "Firefighters used one hose reel jet to cool the brakes on a heavy goods vehicle."
