M6 crash live updates as drivers face delays

Due to a crash, the M6 motorway has been hit with delays of 40 minutes. Following the smash, traffic was stopped on the motorway near Knutsford in Cheshire. The motorway was held heading southbound between junction 19 and 18, according to National Highways.

Three out of four lanes have now reopened, however one has remained closed and major delays have built up. There is congestion of seven miles back from the area, reports National Highways - almost to the M56, junction 20.
