Lorry driver arrested after fatal crash on A14

One person has died and three others suffered serious injuries

A lorry driver has been arrested following a fatal crash in Horningsea. Emergency services were called at around 9.25pm yesterday (22 April) with reports of a collision involving multiple vehicles on the eastbound carriageway of the A14. Cambridgeshire Constabulary have confirmed one person who was in a car was killed.

Three other people in the same car suffered serious injuries. The driver of a lorry, a 38-year-old man from Cambridge, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. The road is currently closed eastbound between Junction 34 and 35 and is likely to remain closed for some time.

Diversions are in place.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision or anyone who saw the vehicles in the moments leading up to the incident.
