Live: M4 traffic at a standstill as vehicle bursts into flames

Traffic on the M4 is currently at a standstill as a vehicle fire has broken out. Motorists on the eastbound carriageway are being held as fire crews work to extinguish a fire between Bath and Chippenham. National Highways has waned drivers there are delays of 20 minutes as emergency services are at the scene.

It said: "Traffic is stopped on the #M4 eastbound between J18 (#Bath) and J17 (#Chippenham) due to a vehicle fire. "Fire crews on scene and working to extinguish the fire. There are 20 min delays above normal travel time currently."
