Cyclist dies and lorry driver arrested after Stocksbridge Bypass crash

Police were called to the A616 near Langsett Reservoir at 10:26am after reports a pedal bike had been hit by a HGV. A 58 year old cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, with his family being supported by specialist officers.
The driver of the lorry was arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care and attention and driving while unfit through drink or drugs. He has been released on bail. South Yorkshire Police are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch on 101.
