Arrest after cyclist fatally hit by lorry near Langsett Reservoir

A man has been arrested following the death of a cyclist whose bike was struck by a lorry.

The 58-year-old rider died at the scene shortly after the collision on the A616, near Langsett Reservoir, which happened at about 10:30 BST on Monday, according to South Yorkshire Police.

The driver of the lorry, a 47-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by driving without due care and attention and driving while unfit through drink or drugs and had since been bailed, a force spokesperson said.

Police appealed for anyone with information or dashcam footage of the collision to get in touch.
