Woman dies in car and lorry crash near Oldmeldrum in Aberdeenshire

A 52-year-old woman has died after a car and lorry crashed in Aberdeenshire.

Emergency services were called to the A947 Aberdeen to Banff road, north of Oldmeldrum, shortly before 08:00.

The collision involved a red Fiat 500 car and a white Scania HGV lorry.

Police Scotland said the female driver of the Fiat was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the lorry, a 60-year-old man, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.
