Man dies after lorry crashes with four vehicles on M60 in Salford

A man has died after a lorry ploughed through a motorway's central reservation barrier and hit four vehicles, police have said.

The collision happened on the M60 between Junction 16 at Pendlebury and Junction 15 at the M61 Swinton Interchange at about 19:20 GMT on Thursday, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) said.

The lorry, with a white cab and blue trailer, is believed to have struck two vehicles, crossed into the opposing carriageway and then collided with a further two vehicles, the force added.

The driver of one of the vehicles the lorry struck, a man aged in his 60s, died and a woman in her 20s suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries while several others sustained minor injuries.
